Job Purpose
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, sales growth, and operational performance of the branch within the mining sector. The role has a strong emphasis on driving revenue, managing key mining customer relationships, expanding market share, and ensuring operational excellence.
The Branch Manager will need to deliver exceptional service to mining clients while ensuring compliance with safety, financial, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership and Revenue Growth
- Drive branch revenue growth through proactive sales leadership and business development.
- Develop and implement branch sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities within mines, contractors, and industrial clients.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Oversee preparation of quotations, tenders, and proposals for mining clients.
- Ensure the branch consistently meets or exceeds sales and profit targets.
- Support and guide sales staff in strategic account development.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key mining customers and decision-makers.
- Conduct regular client visits to mines and customer operations.
- Act as the primary escalation point for customer issues and service concerns.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and product offerings to existing clients.
- Represent the company in client meetings, negotiations, and industry engagements.
- Business Development
- Identify new markets, mines, and projects within the region.
- Develop strategies to increase the branch’s market share within the mining industry.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
- Participate in tender opportunities and large project negotiations.
- Build partnerships with suppliers, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
- Reporting and Governance
- Provide regular reports on sales performance and operational activities.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Ensure accurate documentation of sales pipelines, contracts, and operational performance.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Business Management
- Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Sales or Commercial Management
- Or a related field
Experience
- 8–10 years’ experience within the mining or mining services industry.
- 5+ years in a management role with sales responsibility.
- Proven track record in sales growth, business development, and key account management.
- Experience dealing with mining houses, contractors, and procurement teams.
